Visual Characteristics
-
- Color: A pale, milky seafoam green to mint green, blended with distinct opaque white swirls and patches.
- Texture and Luster: It has a smooth, glossy polished finish with a soft, vitreous (glass-like) to slightly waxy luster.
- Structure: Subtle internal fractures, veining, and a slightly translucent depth are visible beneath the surface.
Common Mineral Possibilities
Without gemological testing (like hardness or specific gravity), a definitive diagnosis cannot be made, but this look is highly consistent with a few common minerals:
- Amazonite: A variety of potassium feldspar. It frequently exhibits this exact light teal or minty-green coloration interwoven with white albite streaks.
- Green Aventurine: A form of quartz containing tiny inclusions of fuchsite mica. While often more uniform, lighter tumbled varieties can display mixed milky-white quartz areas.
